The Slipper and the Rose is a wonderful version, I agree. And yes, it would make for a great review on our site! Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂

Check it out, it’s called The Slipper and the Rose, starring Richard Chamberlain and Gemma Craven, made in 1976. I can’t imagine a more gorgeous film, the costumes are lovely, the music unforgettable, the scenery to die for. Songs written by the Sherman brothers. This story actually gives the prince a name and personality, telling it more from his perspective than Cinderella’s. And, just to convince you that it’s truly the best, it was chosen by the Queen of England to be the Royal Command Performance film of the year. Please don’t miss it! And I’d love to see you do a review on it! (Find it free on youtube videos)

Into the Woods is also charming, albeit in its own unique way. Fun list, Julia! 🙂

It made me feel like a little girl again, dreaming of going to the ball and seeing Prince Charming. I really loved it and thought it was so beautifully made.

As for Ella Enchanted, on its own is a decent film, but when you compare it to the book it just pales terribly in comparison.
