Thanks for sharing! And honestly, I don’t know what movie that is. Wish I could help. 🙂

May I suggest some more? Like: Nico the unicorn (1998), The Secret of Moonacre (2008), The Golden Compass (2007), Big (1988), Paws (1997), Return from Witch Mountain (1978), Escape to Witch Mountain (1975), Oscar, Kina and Laser (1978), The Goonies (1985), Junior (1994), The Brave Little Toaster (1987), Baby Geniuses (1999), FernGully The Last Rainforest (1992), Gattaca (1997), Quest for Camelot (1998), Robocop (1987), Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas (2003), The Fox and the Hound (1981), The Hot Chick (2002), The Indian in the Cupboard (1995), The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Mac and Me (1988), Atlantis (2001), City of Angels (1998), Atlantics (2019), Ernest And Celestine (2012), April And The Extraordinary World (2015). I myself have looked everywhere looking for the name of a fantasy kids’ foreign movie where a butterfly befriends a kid and tells him about how selfish humans are and how humans commit severe wrongdoings to everyone including her kind as well and takes the kid and shows him how much her kind suffers when humans push pins on the butterflies’s wings and use them as decorations. The movie wasn’t a cartoon/animated one and I do remember how it had a lot of purple and pink background colors to it and how most of the conversations between the kid and the butterfly took place when the kid went to bed at night when the butterfly would appear from his window and start talking to him and was a full length live action with special effects added and was very old but no matter where I look, no one has any idea what that movie was or what it was called or even which country it was made in. If anyone has any idea what movie I’m talking about, please let me know. Thanks!

Many say George Lucas lost his spark, but I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve seen so far. He’s still one of my favorite storytellers and world builders along with JRR Tolkien and Jim Henson.

You are welcome! Thank you for reading and I am happy you liked the list. I wanted to make the list varied, as much as it can be within a single genre, and I hope through my recommendations you can find something to enjoy. 🙂

Hmm… if that doesn’t say something about the state of my fantasy story knowledge. 😉 Thanks for sharing, Moriah.

Thank you for reading and I am glad to know you enjoyed the list. Labyrinth and The Neverending Story are some of my favorite films as well. Funny enough, I did not intend this list to be comprised of mostly 80s films but it just sort of ended up that way. Still, it was a fun list to make!

I also have a weakness for Krull which I think is kind of reviled. Nice list! Made me want to have and 80s fantasy film binge watch. Throw in Labyrinth and The Neverending Story and I’d be a pretty happy dork:)!

I really hadn’t heard of these except for Strange Magic which I watched not too long ago with my sister. I actually thought it was a pretty cute and fun movie. I’ll have to try out some of these!
