Hispanics, Latinos, and Spanish individuals contribute enormously to our entertainment. Telenovelas, foreign films, American television, and major studio films increasingly feature the talents of actors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
As a result, we get incredible acting, diverse storytelling, and (let’s be real), incredibly gorgeous people to swoon over.

At The Silver Petticoat Review, we celebrate romantic and Romantic stories. So many favorites come from the work of Hispanic, Spanish, and Latino artists.
Thus, to begin our celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15), we compiled a list of 15 incredible actors (more than just Hispanic) currently burning up our screens.
Some are well-known, starring in a variety of films and television shows. Some are relative newcomers, still making their mark. From various countries, these men are talented, inspiring, and just downright swoon-worthy! Grab your fans, my friends, and sit back and enjoy!

Nationality: Mexican-American
Known For: If you follow entertainment in Mexico, you know Diego Boneta most recently starred in the original Netflix series Luis Miguel. This series chronicled the life of renowned singer Luis Miguel.
He also had roles in the American films Before I Fall and Rock of Ages. You might also recognize him from Scream Queens (2015) and Terminator: Dark Fate.
#2 Santiago Cabrera
Nationality: Chilean
Known For: This Venezuelan-born Chilean broke hearts in BBC’s The Three Musketeers. As Aramis, he gave viewers many a swoon-worthy moment.
He also starred in Big Little Lies, Merlin, the romantic CBS series Salvation, and made an appearance on The Mindy Project. Recently, Santiago Cabrera starred in Star Trek: Picard.
#3 Adan Canto
Nationality: Mexican
Known For: Adan Canto most recently starred as Arman Morales in The Cleaning Lady and Aaron Shore in Designated Survivor.
Fans of the X–Men will also recognize him as Sunspot from X–Men – Days of Future Past. He also appeared in the TV series The Following and Blood and Oil.
#4 Danilo Carrera
Nationality: Ecuadorian
Known For: This television host quickly became a household name after his breakthrough performance in the telenovela Relaciones Peligrosas. He recently starred in Hijas de la luna and El amor invencible.
#5 Jencarlos Canela
Nationality: Cuban-American
Known For: If you watched The Passion on Fox, then you recognize Jencarlos Canela in the role of Jesus Christ. He also starred in the sitcom, Telenovela, opposite Eva Longoria.
He recently starred in Grand Hotel, a drama about the last family-owned hotel in Miami Beach (a remake of a Spanish period drama). It’s a new, fresh take on Upstairs/Downstairs.
#6 Aarón Díaz
Nationality: Mexican-American
Known For: Fans of the show Quantico will recognize Aaron Diaz Spencer who starred in Season 1 of the series.
In addition, he starred in a number of telenovelas including Tierra de Reyes, Los Miserables, and Santa Diabla.
#7 Álex González
Nationality: Spanish
Known For: Alex Gonzalez is best known for his role as Riptide in X-Men: First Class. Recently, he starred in the Spanish television series Vivir sin permiso, the Spanish horror, mystery-thriller Noctem, and Shill, a crime story based on true events.
#8 Yon González
Nationality: Spanish
Known For: A staple to Spanish period drama, you likely recognize this adorable man from the Spanish show Gran Hotel. He also stars in the Netflix original series Las Chicas del Cable (The Cable Girls).
#9 Oscar Isaac
Nationality: Guatemalan and Cuban-American
Known For: Of course, you know Oscar Isaac from the Star Wars franchise. However, arguably, his breakout role was as Llewyn Davis in the film Inside Llewyn Davis. For this, he received a Golden Globe nomination.
He has a long list of credits to his name, including In Secret, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Promise, Life Itself, Moon Knight, and Ex Machina.
#10 William Levy
Nationality: Cuban
Known For: William Levy is best known for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and The Single Moms Club.
Although, many of you will recognize him from Dancing with the Stars. A well-established telenovela star, he also appeared in The Veil, Girls Trip, and even a Jennifer Lopez music video.
#11 Juan Pablo Di Pace
Nationality: Argentinian
Known For: You may recognize him from Mamma Mia and more recently, as Fernando in Fuller House. He also starred in the short-lived Dallas reboot and the Australian TV show Camp.
He landed the titular role in Carlos Gardel the King of Tango. Bonus – he danced with Cheryl Burke on Dancing with the Stars!
#12 Adam Rodriguez
Nationality: Puerto Rican, Cuban-American
Known For: Adam Rodriguez is best known as Eric Delko in the CBS series, CSI: Miami. He currently stars in the CBS crime drama, Criminal Minds.
He also starred in the Magic Mike movies and appeared in several episodes of Jane the Virgin. You may also recognize his handsome profile from the hit TV show, Ugly Betty and as Cookie’s love interest in Empire.
But, don’t ever forget him as Jesse Ramirez in Roswell!
#13 Rodrigo Santoro
Nationality: Brazilian
Known For: It’s Karl. Yep. Karl from Love Actually, the object of Sarah’s affection. Swoon! Of course, he has many other credits to his name.
He also starred in Focus opposite Margot Robbie and Will Smith. In addition, his resume includes 300 The 33, and as Hector Escaton in Westworld.
#14 Miguel Ángel Silvestre
Nationality: Spanish
Known For: He is best known for his role as Lito Rodriguez in the Netflix original series Sense8. You may also recognize him from Narcos.
However, fans of period dramas will recognize him from the original Spanish series, Velvet.
#15 Michael Trevino
Nationality: Mexican-American
Known For: Fans of The Vampire Diaries certainly recognize this cutie. He also recently starred in the CW show, Roswell, New Mexico. A “reboot” of the irreplaceable original, Michael Trevino starred as Kyle Valenti.
