I love both actors!

I can admit, mainly I liked Ben Barnes in this one. 😉 Probably because I really liked his character in the Narnia world, and it’s fun to see Alicia in all of these period drama roles – she does well in so many different genres. 🙂

It might have helped me to watch it in two parts. And I did like the cast, except for Jeff Bridges. I did not love him in this role.

It’s fun if you don’t mind some loose plotting or holes in the legend of the story, Dixie-Ann. Or I thought so. I liked the visual effects/costuming and of course, that cast is really good! Hope you enjoy the film if you decide to watch it – and let me know what you think if you do! 🙂

You ladies make excellent points. I do see many flaws in this, but while watching it, I sort of let my complaints fall away and found myself actually enjoying it. Plus, I watched it in two parts which gave me a bit of perspective. Either way, at least the cast was good.
…and I agree with you Autumn, “Jupiter Ascending” was way fun. 🙂

I didn’t really love this one either. Great cast but the execution wasn’t the best in my opinion. Still, I loved Jupiter Ascending. I thought it was super entertaining!

My husband and I rented Seventh Son because it came and went in the theaters really fast. There are a lot things I’ll watch through to the end even if I’m not completely sold on it, but I had to push stop about halfway through on Seventh Son. I didn’t want to spend anymore of my time on it. I didn’t think the characters, the romance, or the story held up. Felt the same way about Jupiter Ascending, which was visually a gorgeous movie, but lacked other story fundamentals.

I thought this movie sounded interesting when I first heard about it, then it got lost in the shuffle. Since you warned me about the movie’s shortcomings, I think I can enjoy its good points. Good fantasy, or at least ok fantasy, is so rare I think it’s worth checking out what’s out there when I can. Nice review!
