I’m glad. I love films/shows like that – those that we love more the more we consider them. They’re usually the best sort of story. 🙂

Oh I’d give my left foot to have this turned into a Netflix series or something. :’) We can only hope word of mouth will help it gain some ground in the future.

It’s definitely a lot of fun if you don’t take it seriously. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Yes, I very much thought of Rose. It’s very similar for sure! And a graphic novel would be great. Aside from that, they could always recast the movie and turn it into a TV series (seriously downgrading the budget to Doctor Who level of effects). The fabulous world building deserves a second chance.

She doesn’t have superpowers (so yes, she does have to be rescued often), but she enters into the extraordinary like most ordinary women would. ”

Yes this exactly! I saw another review compare her to Sansa Stark learning to deal with the situation she was in, which is so very true. I loved Jupiter for her humanity and her reactions to what was happening around her. Which (like the Doctor Who companions theme you pointed out) very much reminded me of Rose in S1 when the Doctor takes her to see the last days of the Earth and all she wants to do is talk to her mom. 🙂

I too enjoyed this movie quite a lot and really hope that it will be expanded upon later, hopefully in a graphic novel or something along those lines since it’s unlikely we’ll get any more movies out of it.
