Yeah, we bought the third season off ebay! It was totally worth it.

I watched on and off for the run of the show – plan on watching all 3 seasons some time all in order — except for the last episode – for obvious reasons which I will not mention

I completely agree! The storytelling is so strong that you ignore the budget and special effects. And there’s no way it didn’t influence later vampire and sci-fi writers.

Holds up well after a few decades because the writers, actors and directors put a lot of talent into it. The special effects are not important because the story telling is so well done for a TV show, kudos to them all for putting so much into it. A shame it was never a prime time show, would have ended up in full blown movies. There’s many ideas pioneered in the series that must have inspired later sci-fi writers.

You’re reminding me that I need to re-watch again. 🙂 It’s such a great vampire show! I’m glad to hear it’s on Tubi now for more people to watch. Thanks for your comment! I have always loved fictional vampires too. 🙂

I was elated to find it streaming just last week on Tubi and am already up to episode 7. It brings back such great memories of the 90s! It’s just as good now as it was then. I was halfway in love with LaCroix and have loved anything to do with vampires since I was about 10. Much to my mother’s chagrin, I had read Bram Stoker’s Dracula 25 times by the time I was 15, and have read it over 70 times now that I’m in my late 50s. I will always love that book, and it holds such bittersweet childhood memories for me. With two degrees in English Lit and Medieval History, I’ve always loved Romantic literature and that period of history. My favorite part of this show is the flashbacks they have of Nick, LaCroix and Janette. I wish there were more of those!! I saw this article and just had to comment because I truly love this show and am so enjoying watching it again. It’s too bad it was canceled after only three seasons. I’m sure I will rewatch it again and enjoy it just as much!

2020 has been the perfect time to revisit old shows! It really was a wonderfully written show and it’s sad it only had three seasons. But it did end well, I think.

I found it again on Amazon and Apple TV. Just finished Season 3 today. I so agree…. a wonderfully written show! Loved watching it again 25+ years later. I wish there had been more seasons.

It had lots of heart and a generous portion of brains under the fangs and blood. It appreciated the myth of the vampire, though had fun with it. And as a radio guy, I appreciated Nightwatch with the Nightcrawler. Those of us who remember the 90s and some some of the great TV shows to come from the era, this is a gem, a human look at the legend of the vampire.
