I really loved this film! What I particularly liked was that it wasn’t violent in getting its message across, it showed events that could have happened and could still happen to women but it didn’t fiercely judge every man. Moreover, as you wrote, Maud’s husband is also a victim of the society and he’s not actually a bad husband, he just couldn’t bear being cast off. I confess that at first I had doubts about the motto “It’s deeds not words that will get us the vote” but I just realised that men only understand violence (or they only notice violence).
I consider this movie worthy of being watched in high shcools so that youngsters would get to realise how terrible it is to judge someone by his/her gender. Since sadly, it is still relevant and we must fight for our rights!
