I’ve come across the BBC production of “Anne Of Avonlea” (their version of “Anne Of Green Gables” apparently fell victim to their now much regretted “wiping policy), which is close to the book, but the acting and atmosphere is lacking; the 1934 movie is loosely adapted but enjoyable, but Kevin Sullivan’s production will always be tops as far as I’m concerned..
