Let me know what you think!

That’s a good point. And I agree; there is so much in the books that each one could easily be a series of it’s own. Maybe the extra stories could all be linking episodes? You should brainstorm something!

Seriously, my ideal adaptation would stretch out over all nine books, but then you have to convince a couple of twelve year olds that they want to play Anne and Gilbert for the next twenty years…

Who knows, something might be in the works now, just kept tightly under-wraps?

Thanks very much for the recommendation of Green Gables Fables! I knoew nothing about that either but did love the Lizzie Bennet diaries so will definitely be checking that out!

A series being beloved hasn’t stopped them from remaking Austen half a dozen times in recent years so that shouldn’t be so much of a put off. There’s got to be someone out there that thinks there vision is new and has something to add. I think a cool approach would be to stick a little closer to the books and not swirl them all together and add new stuff like the 1985 version did. It might be a little challenging as some of the books are very episodic so there would need to be some linking story pieces put in but it could still work well. Talking about it is getting me excited:).

Stephanie, I know what you mean, both about the surprise no one has tackled a remake yet and a bit of apprehension going in because of the ’85 version. Maybe it’s because everyone loves the ’85 version so much?

It’s such a great story, and it seems to be made for adaptation! I’d also recommend Green Gables Fables, a series on YouTube similar to the Lizzie Bennett Diaries. Personally, I’d love to see all nine films adapted with a mini-series (or television show) each; but that would take years…

I had no idea there was another production and am very curious to check it out though a little fearful because I do really adore the 1985 mini-series. For that same reason I am somewhat reluctant to say it but I really would love to see new mini-series of the books! I’m actually a little surprised no one has tackled it by now since remakes seems to be such a big thing these days.
