Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Like you, I’m hopeful the romance WILL indeed develop. There are teasers of this in the premiere so that’s a good sign. Hope you enjoy if you have a chance to watch this. 🙂

If episode one is an indication, I agree! Cannot wait to watch the rest this week. 🙂

I know it! I’m curious to see how things will play out with Mary and Jed. I definitely think they would make a good couple! 🙂

I’m sorry this one might not suit you because of certain elements, but I do completely understand, Miranda. As you say, the subject matter will make this one difficult to endear itself in the same way as ‘Downton Abbey’ or, say a Jane Austen film.

Really!? Mary and Jed!? This makes me happy! I haven’t watched previews yet, but did feel a little something between Mary and Dr. Jed in one scene – plus, he “yells” at her later in the pilot, telling her to get her bag out of the way. Glad they’ll be some romance potential down the road! 🙂

I liked it pretty well, but wow, is it gruesome! I mean, I shouldn’t so surprised given it’s subject matter, but I was just not expecting it to be quite so graphic. That aside, I think I couldn’t get into this show if I could look past some of the gruesome stuff.

I feel the same way about it being compared to Downton Abbey. Totally different shows in almost every way. Yet if you love history, you’d probably like this show.

Even though I found some of it hard to swallow, I have to admit the costumes made me swoon. And I can tell from some of the previews I’ve seen that there’s going to be a little something between Mary and Dr. Jed. I like the doctor; he’s quirky, but still down to earth and sensible.
