In my opinion, this movie is totally empty. It’s devoid of originality in terms of characters and storyline. There were many parts where the characters behaved completely illogically. In the beginning, I was eager to know what Thomas and Lucille were up to but it was disappointing, I was expecting something more complicated. I hoped it would be a wonderful experience, but it didn’t live up to my expectations.

I was like you, Autumn; NOT interested. I mean, this looked really pretty but I’m so not a horror film fan. However… maybe I’ll give this one a shot when it arrives to DVD. Thanks for the amazing review! 🙂

I had the same reaction to this movie when I heard about it. I saw that Tommy Hiddleston was in it, and of course my interest was peaked :D, but I thought it would be a terrifying horror, so though I was curious, but I didn’t think I could handle it. When I heard it was more gothic romance, I decided to see it. It was quite scary to me at times, but not the kind of horrifying story I don’t enjoy. I completely agree with your views on Thomas and his redemptive qualities. I don’t share your enthusiasm for Charlie Hunnam, but I am definitely interested in seeing him in the new King Arthur movie which is in production.
