I fell in love with the 1982 version as well. The entire movie was both intriguing and entertaining. Anthony Andrews’ character was a delight to watch! I never tire of it.

I haven’t seen the older version with Leslie Howard for a long time. It was the first movie of The Scarlet Pimpernel I ever saw, and I also thought it was great. I am so glad I bought the 1982 version. Jane Seymour is indeed exquisite in this. Anthony Andrews made me love the scarlet pimpernel even more than I already do. Thanks for your comment!

I first saw it in a high school history class and have watched it many times since then. Anthony Andrews is perfect in this role and Jane Seymour is stunning. I just recently watched an earlier black and white version with Leslie Howard (Ashley in Gone with the Wind) and Merle Oberon and found it almost as wonderful as this one.
