Thank you! And Jennifer Ehle really does hold her own opposite Colin Firth. They were so perfect together.

It came out the year we studied “Pride and Prejudice” in school, and I and several other school mates fell in love with it. It’s still one of my favourite movies. Very nice review. I agree that Colin Firth is indeed wonderful. I became a fan of Jennifer Ehle from this adaptation alone because I think she is the perfect Elizabeth Bennet. She more than holds her own opposite Colin Firth.

Thankfully, we travelled a lot, so when I was 10 I was in a hotelroom somewhere, catching an Episode of this lovely series. I didn’t speak English, but I was fascinated and never quite forgot Jennifer Ehles face and all the costumes.
Three years later I was entering advanced English courses and we were encouraged to read English books, and one of my picks was an abbreviated version of Pride and Prejudice and I was hooked. I think it was the reason I learned English to a native-speaker level, reading Jane Austens originals.
Imagine my surprise when I googled adaptations and found the show I always had in the back of my mind was based on my favourite novel of all times!
