Barbara Cartland novels (and their adaptations) are without a doubt silly and over the top, but I do love them for exactly those reasons. When I watch these oldies, I’m not looking for an award winning plot or Oscar-worthy performance, but rather just a fun 90min romp. I have wonderful memories of my childhood watching these. My favourite is Duel of Hearts which I’m sure you will review soon. Looking forward to it!

In reply to Lynn Gaulding Delage. I've also read a few of her novels Lynn and I must agree. The heroine straight up convulsing with suppressed passion everytime the hero was within a kilometre from her does tend to become a little old. HAHA. But of her 4 adaptations, I do love A Hazard of Hearts. The nostalgia is strong with this one :D. Hope you get to watch! Let me know what you think,

I used to read Barbara Cartland until I got bored with the same 3 or 4 plot lines. Considering the sameness of her stories I’m not surprised she had 23 books in one year. She also unashamedly stole from Georgette Heyer on several occasions. Still, she was a fun read. I have seen a couple of the movies in the past although I don’t think I have seen A Hazard of Hearts. I will look it up if only to see Helen Bonham- Carter.
