I was so pleasantly surprised to find a review on this film, which seems to be somewhat of a hidden gem these days. I first watched it years ago, at the same time as the Helena Bonham Carter one in fact, and infinitely preferred both the acting and the story-line in this one. There are so many scenes which are over-the-top romantic and comedy gold; I especially liked Harriet’s little sub-plot…very cute!

Thank you for providing such a pitch-perfect review of this classic Barbara Cartland, early 90s period film!
